DARLENE STAKER

Darlene started coaching youth recreational volleyball teams in Orange County and has also coached indoor and beach adult volleyball classes for Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation for several years. Darlene joined the Prime Family and has been a great leader for our young athletes.

"I love being able to inspire, lead and teach our athletes how to be team players, handle adversity and build friendships along the way. Being part of the volleyball community is where I have made so many long-lasting friendships, and I want to be able to share that same experience with my team by showing them how powerful they can be when we all support each other and work as one."

Darlene was a varsity player for Kennedy High School and a senior setter/hitter for San Marcos High School where she was named All-league and All CIF player in 1979. After high school, Darlene played for Palomar College for 1 year before transferring to the Division 1 program of California State University, Fresno where she received a 2-year full ride scholarship as a defensive specialist. After college, Darlene continued to play beach volleyball and earned a AAA rating and was named one of the top 10 CBVA players in Southern California. She also played for the Pro Women's Volleyball League.

Darlene has been coaching for 4 years and has been coaching at Prime for 2 years.
