CARLY MCKINNEY

Carly started coaching while she was playing college volleyball at John Brown University of Arkansa. Carly coached at Ozark Juniors Volleyball Club and served as a head coach and assistant for several seasons. Carly found her way back to California and served as the Freshman girl's team head coach at Pacific Christian High School in Huntington Beach.

"I have always had a passion for kids and teaching in some way. Also, not to mention I have a HUGE passion for sports, especially volleyball. Not to be basis, but I believe volleyball is the BEST sport out there. I found that coaching was something I absolutely loved once I gave it a shot during my first year of college when I got my first coaching job as an assistant coach. I love building relationships with the girls and families. It is such a privilege to be the leader and example to these young girls and watch them develop and evolve as the seasons go on. Truly, I look forward to the endless hours of practices and tournaments because volleyball is something that has blessed me throughout my life and I want to show the girls I coach that blessing as well."

Carly began her playing career her freshman year of high school. She made the freshman team and was coached by Coach Moot (Craig Moothart). She continued to play all through high school while also picking up club volleyball. Carly earned a full-ride scholarship to play indoor volleyball at John Brown University in Arkansas. She was named Freshman of the Year and made first-team All-League all four years. After graduating in 2020, Carly knew continued to play, but traded out the indoor court for some sand. She earned another full-ride scholarship and played for the Vanguard University Lions beach program. While at Vanguard she completed a Master's in Leadership.

Carly has been coaching for 5 years and has been coaching at Prime for the last year.
