FOUNDERS AND DIRECTORS

JESS PAPELL

Jess Papell founded Prime Volleyball Club in 2012 and continues to serve as the club’s Owner and Director. In 2024, she led 14 adidas Orange to a Gold Medal at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships, capturing the first GJNC National Championship in Prime history.

Jess has coached eight different Prime teams to USAV GJNC bids and medal-winning finishes, including four teams that won Gold Medals at USAV National Qualifiers. In 2025, she led 15 adidas Orange to the 15 Open Championship at the Emerald City Classic.

Jess served as the Head Varsity Coach at San Juan Hills High School from 2016–2024, winning five South Coast League Championships, including three undefeated league seasons. She has also served as a lead coach for USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program for 15 years and works with top athletes from across the country at NTDP Training Series events.

Jess has coached and mentored more than 100 athletes who have continued their volleyball careers at the collegiate level, half of whom competed at the NCAA Division I level.

LYNN BLEVINS

Lynn is our Associate Club Director at Prime along with our Youth Development Director as she runs all of our camps, clinics, youth development programs, and the Ladera Volleyball League. This is Lynn's eleventh season coaching 12s at Prime! She has led her 12s teams to great success with consistent gold division finishes along with qualifying for the Premier Volleyball League and finishing in the top 24 teams in SoCal for the last three seasons highlighted by a 15th place finish at the PVL Championships in 2022. Lynn has led 5 different Prime 12s squads to top 20 Volleyball Festival finishes including a 4th place finish in 2015 and a 6th place finish with a 10-1 record and a division championship in 2022.

Lynn was a four year starter at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo from 1982-1985, a Division 1 Asics All American, and was drafted in 1987 to play in the inaugural season of Women’s Major League Professional Volleyball. She served as the Head Women’s and Men’s Coach at Eastern Montana State College and both played and coached at a professional club in Belgium for four years. Lynn was the Varsity Head Coach at Paradise Valley HS in Arizona from 2001-2007, while also serving as a Head Coach and Co-Director at Arizona Volleyball Academy. We're so happy that the Blevins family decided to return to Southern California and join our Prime Fam! Lynn's daughter Jade played at Prime for 5 seasons before going on to play in the Pac 12 for the Cal Berkeley Golden Bears and Lynn's daughter Alissa returns for her 5th season coaching at Prime!

CHRISTY STOECKEL

Christy enters her 31st season of coaching and 10th season at Prime. She also serves as Prime’s Recruiting Coordinator, bringing more than 20 years of experience helping club athletes navigate the recruiting process and achieve their goals of playing collegiate volleyball.

Christy led Prime’s 15 adidas Orange teams to back-to-back Gold Medals and USAV Girls Junior National Championship bids at National Qualifiers in 2023 and 2024. She also won a Gold Medal and National Championship at the 2013 Junior National Championships, where three athletes earned All-American honors and one was named Tournament MVP. Her teams have recorded numerous top finishes at National Qualifiers and National Championship events.

Christy received the Distinguished Service to Junior Volleyball Award at the 2011 Volleyball Festival. As an athlete at Laguna Hills High School, she was named Athlete of the Year, earned three All-League selections and was selected as an Orange County All-Star. She was named to Volleyball Magazine’s “Fab 50” before continuing her playing career at Oregon State University.

MICHELLE FELICIANO

Michelle is a Prime alum, the club’s Director of Operations and the only member of the Prime family to medal at a USAV National Qualifier as both a player and coach. In 2025, Michelle and Rich Parris led Prime’s 17 adidas team to a Gold Medal and AAU Junior National Championship, with two athletes earning All-American honors and one named Tournament MVP.

Michelle currently serves as the Head Varsity Indoor and Beach Volleyball Coach at Sage Hill School. In 2025, she helped lead Santa Margarita Catholic High School to a CIF Southern Section Championship as the program’s Associate Head Coach. She has also served as an assistant coach for the Concordia University Irvine women’s volleyball program.

A former Prime athlete and collegiate setter, Michelle competed for four seasons at the University of Denver before playing her final season at Concordia University Irvine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology before completing her master’s degree in Coaching at Concordia.
